Most messages we get are about a stream that will not play, and most of those have one of three causes that you can confirm yourself in about a minute.

Run the address through the stream checker. It tells you whether the source is dead, whether it refuses cross-origin requests (which a browser will not allow us to bypass), or whether the manifest is malformed. The playback guide explains each case and what can be done about it, and the FAQ covers the shorter questions.

If the checker says the stream is fine and it still will not play here, that is a bug worth reporting, and the section below says what to send.

Support and feedback

support@m3uplayer.app

Bug reports, feature requests and corrections to the guides all go here. Corrections are genuinely welcome: the guides describe file formats and browser behaviour, both of which change, and a specific correction is more useful to us than a polite one.

Reporting a stream that will not play

Playback problems are hard to reproduce from a description, because the same symptom has several unrelated causes. Four things make a report actionable:

  1. The playlist or stream address, if you are able to share it. Without one we are guessing. If it is private, say so and send the rest anyway.
  2. What the stream checker reported for that address.
  3. Your browser and version, and the operating system. Codec support differs between browsers more than people expect, and a stream that plays in one and not another usually points straight at the cause.
  4. What you saw: an error message, a black screen with audio, a spinner that never resolves, or picture with silence. These have different causes and are worth telling apart.

Anything in the browser console is useful too, if you are comfortable opening it.

Copyright and takedown

dmca@m3uplayer.app

For rights holders and their agents. The copyright and takedown policy sets out what a report needs to contain and what we can act on. In short: we host no video and provide no channels, so we usually cannot remove a stream, because it is neither ours nor on our infrastructure. What we can remove is any link or reference published on our own pages.

Privacy and data requests

Also support@m3uplayer.app, and worth knowing before you write: your playlists, favourites and settings are held in your own browser’s local storage and are never uploaded, so a request to export or delete them is one you can carry out yourself by clearing this site’s data in your browser. There is no account to close. The privacy policy describes what is and is not collected.

What we cannot help with

Being direct about this saves us both an exchange. We cannot supply playlists, channels or stream addresses, and we do not keep a list of any. We cannot repair a stream that belongs to someone else, and we cannot make a source send the cross-origin header that a browser requires of it. What this site is explains why none of that is something we are withholding.

Response time

This is a small independent project rather than a staffed support desk. Most messages get an answer within a few days. Takedown notices are handled first.
