# M3UPlayer.app

> A browser-based M3U/M3U8 player and a set of playlist tools. You supply a
> playlist; it plays in your browser. Nothing is hosted, relayed, or stored on
> our side.

M3UPlayer.app runs entirely client-side. There is no sign-up and no account.
Playlists, favourites and settings are kept in the browser's local storage and
are never transmitted to us. Playback goes directly from whatever source the
user supplies to their own browser — there is no proxy, relay or cache, so a
source that does not send permissive CORS headers cannot be played. Supported
formats are HLS (.m3u8), MPEG-DASH (.mpd), raw MPEG-TS and direct video URLs.

What this service explicitly does not do: it hosts no video content, provides
no channels and no playlists, and does not index or search for streams. It is a
player and a file toolkit, not a source of content.
